As heating oil and electricity costs continue to put pressure on household budgets, I wanted to help our community better understand what goes into our electricity bills and what we can do to save money. That’s why Representative Sally Cluchey and I invited Maine Public Advocate Heather Sanborn to Bowdoinham to break down the different parts of our electric bills, explain what drives our rates, and share ways Mainers can lower their energy costs. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us!

Rising energy costs are making it harder for Mainers to keep up with household expenses. It’s one of the top concerns I hear from families in our community. On Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m., Heather Sanborn, Maine’s Public Advocate, Representative Sally Cluchey, and I will be at Bowdoinham Town Hall hosting a free talk on what goes into your electric bill – how rates are set, what drives monthly costs, and ways you may be able to save. We hope you can make it! Plenty of parking is available on-site

Thank you to everyone who came out last night! It was great to see so many of you, and I really appreciated everyone who participated and asked such thoughtful questions. Representative Sally Cluchey and I invite you to join us Sept. 17 at 6:15 p.m. at the Enterprise Grange #48 in Richmond for a community conversation on how to stay safe, spot the warning signs, and what steps to take if you or a loved one becomes a victim. Hear from the Office of the Maine Attorney General on practical ways to stay protected, and pick up free resources from AARP Maine. We hope to see y

I began my career after completing an electrical apprenticeship here in Maine. I know firsthand how valuable those opportunities can be, but I also know that upfront costs can be a barrier for many people. That’s why I sponsored LD 1117, a law that took effect last year to help cover the costs of tools, transportation, and training materials so more Mainers can access pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. It’s already making a difference. Kloey, one of my constituents, completed a p

On Monday, I welcomed this year’s Union Construction Academy pre-apprenticeship cohort to the IBEW Local 567. We talked about what it means to be in a union and work in the trades, then I took the crew on a tour of the building. It’s so rewarding to see that my legislation is helping more Mainers gain the skills they need for in-demand, good-paying jobs!

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
