Newsletter signups: your email address, when you gave it, and that it came from this site. Legal basis: your consent. Used for one thing — sending election reports — and never shared or used for anything else. Kept until you unsubscribe; every email includes a way to do so, and mailing [email protected] works too.

Contact form: your name (optional), email, and message are stored in our database (EU region) and a copy is emailed to us via Resend, our email provider (EU sending region), so we can reply. Same rule: used only to answer you.

Analytics: we use PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand how the site is used — pages viewed, clicks, and whether our forms work. By default this runs cookieless: no cookie is set and visits are not linked across sessions. If you accept cookies in the banner, analytics may set a cookie so repeat visits are recognized; if you reject, analytics stay anonymous — your choice itself is stored locally so we don't ask again. Form contents (your email, your message) are never sent to analytics.

Server logs: our hosting (Railway, EU region) and CDN (Cloudflare) keep standard short-lived request logs, including IP addresses, for security and operations.

Our reports name political advertisers — parties, candidates, funding entities — based on Meta's public Ad Library and our documented classification (see methodology). We publish this in the public interest: transparency of paid political communication around elections. If you are named and believe a figure or attribution is wrong, write to [email protected] — corrections are taken seriously and published.

Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to [email protected]. You may also complain to your data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
