The deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office answer the domestic call at two in the morning. They work the crash on Route 220. They sit with a family on the worst night of that family’s life. Today the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 144 — those same deputies — endorsed my re-election to the Maryland Senate. That one means something to me. Public safety out here isn’t a talking point. It’s whether a deputy has the backup and the equipment to make it home at the end of his shift. http

The Maryland Right to Life PAC endorsed me for re-election on November 3rd. I have not changed my position to suit an election, and I am not going to start now. People here can look at my record, in the House of Delegates and now in the Senate, and know exactly where I stand. That is worth more to me than being comfortable in Annapolis.

Somebody has to stand in the road at two in the morning, in the rain, in a reflective vest, keeping traffic off a wreck so the medics can work. In Allegany County that somebody is almost always a volunteer who left his own dinner table to be there. I am very grateful the Allegany County Fire Police endorsed my re-election this week. As Chairman of the Fire and EMS Coalition, I’ve spent my time in Annapolis making sure our first responders get the critical support they deserve. Read more at h

There is no backup coming from somewhere else out here. When a barn goes up outside Frostburg or a car leaves the road on a mountain grade, the people who answer are volunteers. The volunteer companies aren’t the fallback plan. They are the plan. The Allegany-Garrett Counties Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association has represented those companies since 1912, and today they endorsed my re-election. These companies raise their own money with chicken dinners and boot drives, then buy their own gea

CUMBERLAND – September 25, 2026 Senator Mike McKay earned the endorsement of SMART, the union representing sheet metal, air, rail, and transportation workers, in his bid for re-election to the Maryland Senate. Rail built Cumberland. The yards, the shops, and the men who worked them are the reason this city exists where it does, and rail is still part of how Western Maryland moves freight and draws visitors. The trades SMART represents — sheet metal fabricators, HVAC mechanics, rail workers — a

The AFL-CIO does not endorse many Republicans. Today they endorsed me. I represent a district built by union labor. Coal country, rail country, building-trades country, where a third-generation miner and a third-generation Democrat are frequently the same guy. I do not ask a man who he voted for before I go to work on his job. Out here the paycheck is not a partisan issue. Either the work stays in Western Maryland or it does not, and I am judged on which one happens.

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
