  • Thank you Joe for recognizing my efforts! After 2 1/2 years of Canadian National promising to fix but then delaying repair of our dangerous railroad crossing, my wife and I took the kids to Montreal and I visited Canadian National’s corporate headquarters. I got a meeting with a top executive. Two months later our railroad crossing got fixed. I did it on my own dime. It didn’t cost the taxpayers a penny.

  • In 2023 2024, our county police force was in trouble. We were losing personnel left and right and were understaffed by more than 40 officers. Pay was the issue. Officers were leaving and going to neighboring forces to get much higher pay. I worked in a bipartisan fashion with our Sheriff to increase salaries so that we could retain our officers. We were able to stabilize and increase the number of officers on the force, while also maintaining a balanced budget.

  • The state of Indiana controls your property tax rates and the cost tables that the assessors must use to evaluate your property. In 2023/2024 the state did give counties a small window of opportunity. They allowed us to cap property tax increases at 2% for people 55 and older who had lived in their home for 10 years or longer. I was happy to cosponsor that legislation.
