• Yesterday evening, at Tag Meir, we distributed sweets and thank-you leaflets to public transportation drivers in Jerusalem. Dozens of activists, alongside active student groups, lined King George Street and handed out sweets, greetings of thanks and heartwarming smiles. All this in appreciation of and support for bus drivers following the repeated attacks they face. We hope this will be a step toward protecting drivers, and that the police, municipality and security services will enforce the law to ensure their safety and security. • We paid a solidarity visit to public transportation drivers at the Superbus company in Jerusalem. We spoke with many drivers about their experiences amid the wave of racist attacks, violence and verbal abuse they face every day. • We organized a large solidarity visit to the village of Jaba, near Gush Etzion, attended by 100 activists, women and men. We toured among the homes attacked by Jewish terrorists, among the burned cars, and witnessed the extent of the destruction and vandalism. The residents welcomed us warmly. We condemned this criminal act that harms innocent people, and stressed that this is not what the Jewish religion teaches, which, like other religions, calls for fraternity among peoples. • Last night, in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter, we met William, a 9-year-old boy who was assaulted on Yom Kippur by a Jewish hate criminal. William, a member of the Armenian community, was riding his bicycle from the Armenian Quarter toward the Mamilla complex when he was pepper-sprayed for daring to listen to music and speak English. We apologized to William and his family and embraced him. We listened to him and his mother, Talin, who painfully recounted what they went through on Yom Kippur. We were pleased that the Israeli police were able to identify and arrest the attacker.
