For months, we have been dealing with what is happening in the after-school programs and summer camps run by “Kito Marom” in the city. Just as with the municipal budget update, here too there are far too many changes with no explanation whatsoever. The high costs, the number of days of activity, alongside real gaps between the tender conditions and what happens in the programs. Following this, we are in contact with the Education Ministry and other oversight bodies, to whom we submitted many of the findings we collected. • Judaism belongs to all of us, not to a particular party. It is certainly not a political tool to be used to take over centers of power. When appointed, a city rabbi must represent all residents, not one way. I am pleased to report that the Itim organization and the Center for Judaism and State have stepped up and are helping me around the clock, professionally and legally, to stop this improper move. Filing a petition with the court is definitely on the table; a “for life” appointment will not move forward over our heads in closed rooms. And amid all this, a good word when it is needed—and it is needed. I welcome the announcement that a legal solution has been found to return the Scouts movement to the city.
