• On this day, the memorial day for the October 7 disaster, we ask to remember the children who fell. Children who will not get to enter through a school gate, who will not get to fulfill their potential—children who will not get to discover what learning is or the joy of acquiring new knowledge. The children who did not get to run during recess, the children whose futures were cut short in an instant. On the day of the terrible massacre, 37 children were murdered, 36 were kidnapped, 116 children were orphaned of their parents, and 50,000 children were evacuated from their homes. Today we ask to remember those who are no longer with us, and to do everything possible to ensure that the rehabilitation of Israel’s children succeeds and that their future is secure.

• For years, the state-religious and state-Haredi education streams have received more funding than state education. We believe that all of Israel’s children are born equal, and the public agrees with us. A survey by the Coalition to Save State Education shows that 80.3% of the public believe that the funding gap between education streams is unjustified. 73.8% of respondents demand that the next government invest more resources in education. It is time to give our children a better, more equal education.
