• A historic moment at the Zippori Stream — stopping the pollution. Last week, as part of the national project to restore the Zippori Stream, we held a ceremony marking the end of wastewater discharge into the Zippori Stream, following many years of ongoing pollution. The pollution-stopping project was made possible through a professional and financial partnership among the Water Authority, Emek Yizre'el Wastewater, Yad Hanadiv Foundation, the Kishon Drainage and Streams Authority, the Nature and Parks Authority, and the Emek Yizre'el Regional Council. Thanks to this move, the regular flow of sewage into the stream from regional wastewater-treatment plants has stopped, marking another significant step toward its restoration.   רגע היסטורי בנחל ציפורי - מפסיקים את הזיהום. בשבוע שעבר, במסגרת הפרויקט הלאומי לשיקום נחל ציפורי, קיימנו טקס לציון הפסקת הזרמת הקולחים לנחל ציפורי, לאחר שנים רבות של זיהום מתמשך. הפרויקט להפסקת הזיהום יצא לפועל בזכות שותפות מקצועית ותקציבית של רשות המים, קולחי עמק יזרעאל, קרן יד הנדיב, רשות ניקוז ונחלים קישון, רשות הטבע והגנים ומועצה אזורית עמק יזרעאל. הודות למהלך זה הופסקו הזרימות הקבועות של שפכים לנחל מהמט"שים באזור, ונעשה צעד משמעותי נוסף בדרך לשיקומו. הטקס התקיים במעמד השותפים לדרך, אשר

• A beautiful Saturday morning. The Kishon Drainage and Streams Authority’s winter tours got off to a great start. More than a hundred people chose to join our tours and enjoyed good guidance, wonderful weather and a flowing stream in the heart of a green landscape. A weekend of blossoms, history and nature: from a tour around green Alon HaGalil, through the orchards of Saffuriya and tales of espionage in the Kishon, to meeting farmers and having coffee overlooking the spring. • Look what’s happening here... The heavy rains of recent days have restored welcome flows and life to the streams after a difficult year of drought. We at the Kishon Drainage and Streams Authority continue restoring the Tzippori Stream with our valued partners. In recent months, we carried out regulation and restoration work at the Tzippori–Yiftachel stream confluence, aiming to expose this unique meeting point and create new, distinctive habitats that will enrich biodiversity in the stream and the visitor experience.
