• I am happy to share more good news for education in Ofakim. This week, we approved plans to establish an additional high school in the city. This will be a new state religious high school, to be built in the Afikei Nahal neighborhood, joining the innovative agrotech high school already in advanced stages of construction. This is significant news for Ofakim’s students, which will continue to expand their choices, improve learning conditions and give the city’s children the best tools to succeed in the changing world of tomorrow. • Even during the coming summer vacation, we are not stopping learning. Dear parents, I am happy to update you on the municipal summer study program we have prepared for Ofakim’s children. This is a broad educational initiative that will allow thousands of the city’s students to keep learning, getting stronger and progressing throughout the summer break. • Happy to share with you, dear residents, that municipal property tax in Ofakim is not going up this year either! When I took office in 2013, I made a significant decision that has guided Ofakim for more than a decade: not to raise residents’ municipal property tax. Since then, apart from the legally required “automatic pilot” adjustment, there have been no initiated increases whatsoever in municipal property tax rates in Ofakim. Despite rapid growth, major investments in the city and rising costs across the country, Ofakim maintains the same municipal property tax rate and relies on economic development, government funding and initiatives that bring money into the city from outside—not from residents’ pockets.
