• Who is afraid of democracy in the Institute?? We did not turn the Institute into an innovative, leading and progressive one only for pettiness and political wheeling and dealing to return and try to intimidate the Institute's members. The Central Committee approved the bylaw amendment by an overwhelming, confident and unprecedented majority! And it does not feel threatened by the usual suspects, who are once again trying to create fear and issue threats because they themselves are afraid to run in democratic elections. It is important for me to say that my entire life over the past four years as president has been devoted solely to advancing the standing of the profession and of accountants, because this is my life's purpose. And as for what comes next, we are two years away from elections and have many more important things to do

(Watch the video) The Institute of Certified Public Accountants is changing its legal status into a public benefit company, and the bylaws must be approved by the members as required by law!! The Institute's Central Committee approved by an overwhelming majority the option, in every election held once every three years, of allowing equal candidacy for the presidency—including for someone currently serving or who served in the past—in democratic, transparent and digital elections. Only this way can every member have the greatest possible freedom to decide what they think and make their legitimate choice!!!
