The Buffalo News asked both County Legislature candidates the same questions and printed our answers in our own words. Read both, then check the record. My opponent says his top priority is lower taxes. The town tax levy went up in every budget he voted for, last month he voted to lift Orchard Park’s tax cap, and the hearing on the proposed 8 percent increase is Nov. 4, the day after the election. My answers are about this district: the pharmacy desert in Eden and North Collins, the vans that ge

From day one, I've said this campaign isn't about me. It's about the people of District 11: the workers, the families, and the neighbors who make every one of our nine towns home. That's why I'm proud to have the support of so many groups who stand up for working people, for families, and for communities that too often get overlooked. I'm running because a good, affordable life shouldn't be this hard to come by. When you're working hard to provide for your family, the county is supposed to hav

Why I’m running, in under a minute. Being from this district means more than having an address here. I grew up on a farm in Evans and live in Lake View. I have family in Brant. I worked at Tops, and at Claddagh in Derby supporting adults with developmental disabilities. I’ve spent a lot of time at the businesses and events in Eden and North Collins. The people of the district are my friends, family, and neighbors. I’m running so every town here, rural or suburban, gets a legislator who shows up

A graphic is not a record. My opponent posted his three priorities: lower taxes, public safety, openness and transparency. Here is what he has actually done. LOWER TAXES. On September 16 his town board voted to let itself go past the state's 2 percent tax cap. Two of five members were absent. It needed every vote in the room. His was one of them. Two weeks later the town filed a budget that raises the total tax levy 8 percent, $1.6 million. He has voted for every budget since he joined the boa

On September 16, with two of its five members absent, the Orchard Park Town Board voted to let itself raise your property taxes past the state's 2 percent cap. The law needed every vote in the room. It got them. One was my opponent, Scott Honer. Why does a town need to go past the cap? Because it spent its savings. Here's where the money went. Outside lawyers. Over four years the town budgeted $550,000 and spent $1,002,926, on top of two attorneys already on the payroll. A road contract. In 2

People are sick of politicians who run for office just for a title. A month before my opponent announced he was running for County Legislature, his town board handed him a new title and a $5,000 stipend: deputy supervisor of Orchard Park. Here's how that title came to be. The town created the job in October 2020 because the supervisor had quit and somebody had to run the meetings. When a new supervisor was elected, the board voted, unanimously, to let it expire. Six months later, Scott Honer

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
