Every trip to the pump and grocery run in Sweetwater costs more than it did a year ago. And while families are already stretched thin, City Hall wants to add one more bill: Referendum 3 would put red light cameras back on our streets, generating fines that will hurt your bottom line. Sweetwater families need relief from rising costs. They don’t need another fee waiting for them at the next intersection. Vote NO on Referendum 3 on or before August 18.

In 2019, Sweetwater voters enthusiastically rejected red light cameras after years of unfair ticketing and a program that was more about revenue than safety. Now, Mayor Pepe “DUI” Diaz is trying to bring them back against the will of the voters, hoping a low-turnout primary election will let them undo what voters already decide. Referendum 3 would let the city ticket you using this technology again. Don’t let him overrule your vote. Vote NO on Referendum 3 on or before August 18.

Sweetwater voters already settled this question once. When residents rejected red light cameras years ago, it wasn’t a close call—voters overwhelmingly voted to end the program. That should have put an end to this issue. But now, our Mayor and City Commission are putting the same cameras back in front of voters this August. If Sweetwater’s government won’t accept the answer voters already gave, the only way to stop it is to show up and deliver that answer again. Vote NO on Referendum 3 on o

Sweetwater leaders need to listen to voters. We already rejected red light cameras because working families and seniors are taxed enough—and these automatic fees do nothing but put more burden on us. It’s time to stand up and reject new fees and taxes once and for all. Vote NO on Sweetwater Amendment 3 (#179) on or before August 18.

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
