One thing I’ve become convinced of: Chicago pretty much knows what needs to be fixed. The bigger challenge is that we’ve built a system that makes it too hard to fix it. A City Charter, an independent budget office, and stronger accountability would help create a City Hall that’s better at planning ahead, executing, and delivering results over the long term. We need great, new, creative ideas. But we also need a city government that’s better at turning those ideas into reality.

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
