The hay is in the barn - tomorrow is Election Day. I've knocked over 2,000 doors from Fruitland to Blanco, from Gallup to Cedar Hill, and points in between, plus I have met countless voters at events big and small. I have not asked voters to trust what I might do as judge—I have asked them to look at what I've proven over the last 2 years. Since taking the bench, I've protected the community, upheld the Constitution, delivered timely justice, and worked to strengthen our local courts and trea

Protecting the community is one of my most important responsibilities as your district judge — and that goes beyond criminal cases. One area where I’ve protected vulnerable people is guardianship and conservatorship cases involving incapacitated adults. When concerns about safety or well-being have arisen, I’ve appointed guardians ad litem to independently investigate and, when necessary, removed guardians to protect those who could not protect themselves. Justice is not only about accountabi

I have fought for children in foster care by supporting CASA programs. CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for children who may have been abused or neglected and to make sure their needs are not overlooked. While serving on the New Mexico Supreme Court’s Children’s Court Rules Committee there was a push to not appoint a CASA until after a parent or guardian was proven to have abused or neglected a child. I successfully argued that children in foster care should have access
