  • Hi neighbor, I'm Karen Burnett-Kurie asking for your vote to represent Ossipee, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro in the New Hampshire House. A lifelong independent, I will work with both parties to address your needs. No platform will determine how I vote because my job is to represent you. My love for New Hampshire began in childhood with summers in Tuftonboro and Ossipee. In fact, 4 generations of my family have spent summers in Tuftonboro and 2 generations in Ossipee camps. I chose New Hampsh

  • Hi, I'm Karen Burnett-Kurie, asking for your vote to represent Ossipee, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro in Concord. I want to lower property taxes. Did you know New Hampshire depends on property taxes for 63% of all local, county, and state revenue? Rather than lowering your taxes, New Hampshire's GOP majority has lowered taxes for large corporations and wealthy individuals. Property taxes can be lowered immediately by eliminating the statewide education property tax. And too many Granite Sta

  • I'm asking for your vote to represent Ossipee, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro in Concord. My opponent, Dale Fincher, talks about the New Hampshire Advantage, but he doesn't seem to realize the New Hampshire Advantage is more than no sales or income tax. It's a quality of life, one that's supposed to be accessible to everyone, including young adults, young families, and Granite Staters with modest incomes. But too many Granite Staters are not feeling the New Hampshire Advantage because New Hamps

  • The NH Legislature needs to understand that each and every time they add a rule, regulation, standard or requirement for NH schools to follow, there is an associated cost. That cost belongs to Concord, not just local taxpayers. Defining an adequate education absolutely should not be used by the Legislature to limit its financial obligations.

  • Relying on property taxes for 63% of all state and local revenue is not a sound or sustainable tax policy. And increasingly, it is undermining the very New Hampshire advantage we’re trying to protect. For too many Granite Staters, 𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠, high property taxes are making it harder to stay in the homes they love or buy a home in the first place. It’s time to stop pretending that New Hampshire’s property-tax burden is the price we hav

  • Democracy requires citizens to engage, participate, volunteer and lead. Granite Staters all need to decide our state’s future. We have been our version of a ‘free state’ for centuries, with values which extend well beyond liberty and freedom. Granite Staters understand the role of the majority in decision making, but also respect the needs, viewpoints and contributions of the minority. We do not want to become someone else’s Free State. We want to continue being the more relaxed, gentle and we
