When patients lose coverage, their medical needs don’t disappear. Care is still delivered, but the costs shift to hospitals, stretching resources and putting access to care at risk for every Rhode Islander. Prior authorization too often forces hospitals to spend significant time on paperwork instead of patient care. When patients are ready to move to a nursing home or rehabilitation facility, delays caused by insurer approvals can slow recovery and strain hospital capacity. The Timely Post-Acute Care Access Act (H.8367), sponsored by Susan Donovan, RI State Representative, District 69, ensures insurers cover at least 7 days of post-acute care without prior authorization. Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
