  • We're not done by a long shot! If you attended Monday's meeting, you know the Albany Transportation Plan (ATP) passed — and the ATP project includes the bike lane. But there's a long way to go before this 10-block, one-way bike lane (cycle track) gets built. That means months of work by the City of Albany on the project placement and funding, plus more stages where Albany City Council will need to give approval. To be clear: we don't think bike proponents on the Council are trying to build so

Please write 📨 City Council today / tomorrow [email protected]. There are several things wrong with the plan so feel free to focus on 1-2. • Don't Shrink Solano🚦A plan is progressing to reduce the width of Solano Avenue for a bike lane and make it less appealing to drive there. This policy approach is called a “road diet”. The Solano cycle track proposal (bike lane) is a good example. Road diets have been a favorite of traffic engineers for more than a decade, but they often come with unintended consequences. The city council has not reported on, or even mentioned, the history of failed road diets in Los Angeles and other cities.

  • News Flash: A vote 🗳️ on a one-way bike lane for Solano Avenue may happen soon, possibly early or mid-July. Follow this page to stay updated, especially if you vote in Albany. We like bikes, 🚴🏽‍♂️ and some of us bike regularly. But this proposal is unsafe and bad for small businesses. The plan: a 10-block, one-way, uphill bike lane from Masonic Avenue (BART tracks) to Tulare Avenue. Albany already has two-way bike lanes on Marin Avenue and Washington Avenue. If we have two, why build a thi

  • Nobody told you the Albany City Council is voting on a one-way bicycle lane on Solano Avenue in early July. We have nothing against bikes! But the Solano Avenue bike lane seems unsafe, negative for small businesses, and expensive. It's a 10-block bicycle lane (one-way, uphill, south side of the street) running from Masonic Avenue (BART tracks) to Tulare Avenue. You may know we have a 2-way bike lane the whole length of Marin Avenue now and another on quiet Washington Avenue. If we have 2, wh

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026. Spend is the sum of Meta’s range midpoints; impressions above one million are reported as “1M+”, so impression figures are floors. Each ad counts in the week its delivery started, with its lifetime spend at our last pull; ads still running before the vote are counted as of 31 October 2026.
