Today my family was kindly invited to tour the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial, guided by Bainbridge Mayor, Clarence Moriwaki. One detail that stayed with me - Bainbridge Island was the first place in the country where Japanese American families were forcibly removed during internment.
