  • I was joined yesterday by my good friend, Dr. Jon Meiman, while meeting with voters. Jon and I used to work together at the WI Department of Health Services where he served as Chief Medical Officer. Jon also served as a CDC doctor. The Trump Admin has substantially weakened our nation’s public health preparedness and response capabilities. The federal government’s delayed response to hantavirus is a warning sign. Going forward, Wisconsin will need to prioritize state response capabilities to ke

  • My roots are in farming. My parents owned and operated a grain and Christmas tree farm in western Minnesota. My twin sister is an Ocean Spray cranberry grower near Warrens. Agriculture isn't just an industry to me — it's family. And Wisconsin's farmers deserve a representative in Madison who understands that from the ground up. • Things I’ll never apologize for as a person or a candidate: I am proud to call myself a Democrat. I find it curious that candidates of either parties don’t or won’t identify which party they align with. Voters deserve to know where people stand, and I’m not afraid to tell you where I stand. I believe in unions, progressive taxation, fair school funding, and preserving our family farms. Yes, I believe our broken immigration system needs fixing, but I also know immigrants contribute greatly to

  • Excited to be endorsed by the Wisconsin State Journal for the 50th Wisconsin State Assembly District. As the WSJ indicated, I have a worthy opponent, but was pleased the WSJ had this to say in its endorsement of me: "The list of [Oemichen's] public service and involvement goes on and on.....A pragmatist, he says he relies on data, not politics, to make decisions.....Oemichen brings too much to the plate to pass by."

  • Always great to see lawn signs while out door knocking; today in the Town of Springdale outside of Mount Horeb and Verona. Today, area voters were very focused on the high cost of health care insurance and said Medicaid/Badgercare needs to be expanded and that the state needs to look at providing a public option. I agree and will work for this as a member of the State Assembly.

  • One of the most important state laws that needs updating in early 2027 is the state's $7.25 per hour minimum wage. This law has not changed since 2009, the last time Democrats formed the Senate and Assembly majority. The price of fuel, groceries, housing and healthcare has been -- and is -- rapidly increasing. Even if without inflation, no one can live on this. Increasing the state's minimum wage has to be a priority for Assembly Democrats.

Figures cover domestic political ads paid in dollars, from 4 May 2026.
